Simply Smiles measures how we use every dollar donated. We strategize about how to direct every volunteer hour. Efficiency is central to producing our high level of efficacy and impact.

To prove it to you, Simply Smiles, Inc, operates with complete transparency. Supporters can view our financial filings and our independently audited financial statements. Third-party charity watchdogs review and certify our work. And, if that’s not enough, hundreds of volunteers visit our program locations annually - to see with their own eyes the impact of a dollar given and an hour worked. We invite you to do the same.

Assessing an organization’s program services expenditures vs. fundraising & management expenses is one way to assess efficiency. Simply Smiles is extremely proud of our low “overhead” costs.

FOR YEAR 2022:

Simply Smiles' Management & General Expenses to Total Expenses = 5.8%.  The average for nonprofits in the United States is 18.1%. 

Simply Smiles' fundraising efficiency, calculated as Total Fundraising Expenses divided by (Contributions + In-kind Supplies/Materials), = 12.7%.  The American Institute of Philanthropy's CharityWatch indicates 35% is reasonable for most charitable organizations.

COVID recovery

Adjusting from the impact of COVID-19, the organization demonstrated significant year-over-year revenue growth in 2021. Volunteer opportunities are still suspended resulting in a revenue reduction of approximately $500k.
