Make a Contribution Casa Hogar is one of the only facilities in the southern half of Mexico that will accept a child with special needs. When they come to live with us, the children in our care who suffer with disabilities are given every chance at a happy life. They receive the proper medical care, therapy, education, and the special attention that they deserve.

We would like to introduce you to some of the amazing children who are being helped to live happy lives at Casa Hogar.

Like many of the children who come to live with us, Danny's difficult early years resulted in a severe learning disability.
With the lack of prenatal care, dust, and bright sun, blindness is prevalent in the mountains of Oaxaca. Here Esther works on learning how to read and write Braille.
Eufronia was born with simple meningitis. Left untreated, it destroyed her ability to develop physically and cognitively. She is micro-cephalic.
When Flor arrived at Casa Hogar she was 13 months old and weighed 9 pounds. With an infected hare lip and cleft palate, the doctors gave her no chance to survive. Flor is now a healthy kindergarten student and has had several surgeries to repair her mouth.
Ricardo suffers from Cerebral Palsy. He is unable to move his legs or use his right hand. Before coming to live at Casa Hogar, he was tied in a wooden chair all day long.
Deafness is very common amongst the children of the mountain villages. Vicente has limited hearing and is getting used to wearing a basic hearing aid.
